Sommer Green

Sommer joined the Pohlad Family Foundation in 2020 and serves as the Program Officer, Impact and Learning. She leads the Foundation’s learning, evaluation, and impact work, helping measure progress toward housing justice and translating community and grantmaking insights into strategy, advocacy, and systems change. Sommer partners closely with nonprofit organizations, community members, and Foundation leadership to strengthen learning, inform decision-making, and advance equitable outcomes across the Twin Cities. She also supports board and family learning, helping connect community knowledge and evidence to the Foundation’s decision-making and long-term impact. Prior to her current role, Sommer led the Foundation’s Housing Stability grantmaking portfolio, overseeing investments in direct impact, organizational capacity building, and collective impact initiatives. 

Sommer has more than 20 years of combined experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors supporting housing and education. She is committed to advancing meaningful systems change, creating opportunity, building strong relationships, and ensuring that community voice remains at the center of her work. 

Sommer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education at Hamline University.
