Does the Foundation solely fund Twin Cities organizations?

Yes. Our giving focus is the seven-county metro area (Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington Counties).

May I send a proposal for the Pohlad Family Foundation to consider?

Announcements regarding open funding opportunities are posted on our homepage. The Pohlad Family Foundation does not accept unsolicited funding proposals.

Does the Foundation give money to individuals or families?

The Foundation is not able to give directly to individuals. We provide grants to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and on a very limited basis, to government entities.

Does the Foundation fund projects outside its focus areas of Housing Stability and Racial Justice?

To make the greatest impact and address community needs, the Foundation’s giving is focused on our Housing Stability and Racial Justice programs. We do not consider grants outside of these focus areas.

Does the Foundation support events such as benefits or galas?

No, we do not support or sponsor fundraising events.

How will I know if my grant request has been funded? 

All applicants receive grant decisions in writing. Opportunities for feedback are extended to all grant-seekers whose proposals are declined.

Are Foundation staff available to meet with nonprofit representatives to discuss funding opportunities?
