2020American Indian Community Development Corporation$75,000For American Indian Community to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for staff and residents, hire professionals to clean and sanitize the Overnight Drop-in Center, assist housing tenants with rent payments. 2020Connections to Independence$40,000Connections to Independence will provide direct assistance for rent, utilities, and basic needs for young adults who have aged out of foster care and have lost jobs due to Covid-19. Technology inequalities will be addressed to ensure e-learning, to seek out resources, and follow mandates to stay-in-place. In response to COVID-19 and to increase social distancing, building access is restricted and meals are delivered to individual rooms. 2020CAPI USA$100,000CAPI will address the accelerating housing instability concerns and basic needs of Minnesota’s immigrants and people of color due to COVID-19. 2020Community Stabilization Project$59,000To mitigate the risk of contracting COVID-19 for people experiencing homelessness by enabling Community Stabilization Project to accelerate move-in-readiness for low-wealth, BIPOC individuals, families, and youth moving out of homelessness and into safe, stable housing. 2020Community Stabilization Project$25,000Community Support Program (CSP) is a fully black-led, grassroots tenant rights organization serving Saint Paul's Frogtown neighborhood. CSP reaches underserved families who are not eligble for other programs and are described by other providers as a "go to source" when no other resources are available. 2020Connections to Independence$25,000Connections to Independence (C2i) is a culturally-specific organization that serves young people aging out of fostercare. The majority C2i's board and leadership are people of color who have themselves been in foster care. 2020Foster Advocates$50,000Foster Advocates is a nonprofit led by and for youth who've aged out of fostercare - focusing on policy and practice improvements that ensure fosters are successful into adulthood. 2020Inquilinxs Unidxs por Justicia$25,000Inquilinos Unidos (IX) is a grassroots tenants rights organization serving Minneapolis, reaching residents who are often exploited by unscrupulous landlords. IX has also engaged City leaders in Minneapolis, shining a light on predatory landlord practices and substandard conditions resulting from poor compliance with existing City policies.
